Education & Training

Eating disorder education saves lives.

Recovering from an eating disorder is not something someone does alone. It takes the work of an entire team. At Body Brave we know that to work towards a world free from the devastating effects of eating disorders we cannot just offer support for those struggling, we need to offer support for everyone on their recovery team as well.

Eating disorders are complex, biologically driven, serious illnesses, with the highest fatality rate of any mental illness, significant health complications, and intense emotional pain. With early intervention and rapid access to quality treatment and support, a full recovery is possible.

Our education courses are designed to equip supporters with the tools to ensure that early intervention and quality support is accessible for all.  We offer courses for professionals, for caregivers, community supports, and for individuals who are experiencing an eating disorder themselves. Our courses are hosted on our e-classroom for you to explore at your own pace. As with all we do at Body Brave, lived experience is at the centre of our education programs.

All proceeds of all courses go directly to providing treatment for people struggling with eating disorders.

We need to offer support for everyone on their recovery team.

Providing patient-centred care requires collaboration among healthcare providers, patients and their families. Our education programming is focused on these three groups:

This introductory training course is aimed at offering education to people who practice nutrition work in community-based settings (such as non-profit organizations).
